Press Room

About AAPS

Founded in 1986, AAPS advances the capacity of pharmaceutical scientists to develop products and therapies that improve global health and is a professional, scientific organization of approximately 9,000 members employed in academia, industry, government, and other research institutes worldwide. The AAPS Press Room is intended for journalists to gain information on AAPS, stay current with breaking scientific research and trends affecting the industry, and get in touch with experts through the AAPS Pharmaceutical Scientist Expert Center.

AAPS provides a dynamic international forum for the exchange of knowledge among scientists to enhance their contributions to health. We offer timely scientific programs, ongoing education, opportunities for networking, and professional development.

Pharmaceutical Scientists

Pharmaceutical scientists are instrumental in the discovery and development of innovative drugs that improve health and save lives. Pharmaceutical scientists have a broad base of scientific knowledge and work at pharmaceutical companies, universities, and agencies like the Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention, and the National Institutes of Health.

Please refer to the AAPS Pharmaceutical Science Primers for a look at examples of typical activities in the field.

For story ideas from the latest research, visit the online scientific journals: The AAPS Journal, AAPS PharmSciTech, and Pharmaceutical Research.
